Supported Environments

Deliberately narrow boundaries for supervised local NTFS / exFAT triage and relocation.

DriveAtlas Technician has a deliberately narrow operating boundary. The current beta is intended for supervised Windows storage triage and relocation between supported local volumes.

Supported operating systems

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11

Supported storage

  • Local fixed source and destination drives
  • Local removable NTFS or exFAT destinations (for example technician USB / data volumes)
  • NTFS and exFAT file systems
  • FAT32 destinations only when every file is under 4 GiB
  • Supported files and folders that can be processed within the DriveAtlas workflow

Supported modes

Scan Only

Inspect and classify meaningful storage without copying or removing source content.

Copy and Review

Copy supported content to another local NTFS or exFAT volume while leaving the original source intact for technician review.

Verified Move

Create a complete per-file SHA-256 manifest, copy the supported content, verify the destination against the manifest, and allow source removal only after a full match and technician approval.

Supported working model

  • Interactive use by a technician
  • Explicit source and destination selection
  • Review of path sensitivity before action
  • Technician approval before commitment
  • Operation history
  • Undo assistance
  • Interrupted-operation Recovery

Before using DriveAtlas

  • Confirm that the source content belongs within the supported boundary.
  • Confirm that the destination is a suitable local NTFS or exFAT volume (or FAT32 under the 4 GiB rule).
  • Maintain appropriate backups for important customer or business data.
  • Review every blocked or path-sensitive result instead of bypassing it manually.
  • Follow the customer’s or organization’s security policy.

Note: Alternate data streams (NTFS ADS) are not fully preserved when the destination is exFAT or FAT32. Primary file content is still hashed and verified.

A supported environment does not mean that every large folder should be moved. DriveAtlas supports the workflow; the technician remains responsible for the decision.
